rachel scroggins is the best because she doesn't have to yell at you to get what she wants. the roof was actually a lot cooler than we thought it was going to be + before we knew it, rachel had over 500 shots. don't be a stranger, i'll post highlights soon.

swarmy like stew

it was one of those days where i didn't feel exactly human. i was more like a cutlet marinating in a thick broth. that or, an insect caught in a light fixture or the grill of a hair dryer. i was stuck in the middle: the middle of the week, the middle of my ride home, the middle of the williamsburg bridge + i bumped into a beautiful boy i know. it was this wonderfully cinematic moment. that was when i decided that i was never going to wear anything that i wasn't 1000% in love with. you never know who you're going to bump into.

p.s. this is a new collar i fancied from another viceversa find ($7).

destruction/creation

ripping apart $7 blouses for their lacey bits is rad.

lo found me this button-up last friday + i've worn it almost everyday since. i lifted this lacey collar from the destruction of a salvation army v-neck. it's too hot for polyester anyway.

jane campion's bright star (2009)

is one of those films whose trailer made me vomit. yesterday, it was the magical crack that is netflix-instantwatch + the glowing splendor of ben whishaw* that lured me to the screen. i expected some repulsive notions of romantic love, but janet patterson's gorgeous costumes brought the gasp-factor. it is an english, early 19th century lurve story between poet john keats (my boy benny whishaw) + fanny brawne (abbie cornish). the costumes are full of beautiful little details.
